FM has announced the next addition to the upgraded line-up and DJ Fresh will take over at 5am on 5 May.
There has been much speculation since the announcement of the new arrivals at 5FM and the station has made a decision to start the show at 5am fuelled by feedback from listeners to have a breakfast show that starts their day when they do.
DJ Fresh will be joined by his long standing colleagues Catherine Grenfell (Executive Producer) and Duran Collett (Sport). Newbies include Carmen Reddy (News) who has extensive TV and radio background and Sol Phenduka (Traffic) who has recently been in the Big Brother Mzansi House and has extensive morning radio experience.
DJ Fresh said in a statement: “I have always enjoyed doing morning radio and the move back to AM drive is a great opportunity to create content and entertain in a new space. I am excited about the new additions to my team and guarantee the audience will be part of my journey in every aspect of the show and P.S no prisoners will be taken.”
Programme Manager, Tim Zunckel added: “I am particularly excited about DJ Fresh’s move to the early part of the morning and look forward to offering the audience a varied combination of entertainment to start their day. With DJ Fresh leaving the PM drive slot, it creates a great opportunity for Roger Goode to inject some of his crazy antics from 4PM in the afternoon.”
