Sad news today as the nation found out that former police commissioner, Jackie Selebi has passed away. Although many might remember Selebi more for activities that tainted his reputation, 5FM DJ and former Big Brother Mzansihousemate, Sol Phenduka remembers him as a smart man and a great freedom fighter.

Whilst the likes of Gareth Cliff sent their sombre regards towards Selebi’s family.

Speaking to NoW.co.za Cliff also added that he felt that Selebi “just faded away”

Several others have expressed their surprise that Shabir Shaik, who has been “sickly” for years, outlived Selebi.

Neighbours and close family friends have already gathered at the Selebi house to pay their respects.
