Death is never easy on anyone and in this case it was even harder for the parents who lost a baby they never got to see.
R&B singer Lloyd Cele and his wife Janice are finally speaking out about their tragic loss. Less than two months ago the couple lost their unborn baby at 35 weeks
They now recall how they had everything ready for her arrival, everything from her clothes to the nursery.
They had already picked a name for their baby girl which would be Torah Afrika but sadly she did not get to meet her parents.

Speaking to Drum magazine, Janice says she woke up one day “feeling uneasy” because she hadn’t felt the baby move for a while
When the couple finally heard the bad news from their doctor that baby Torah was going to be born dead, the did not want to believe what they were being told and could not understand how such a tragedy could happen to them.

“Our baby’s loss was due to a true knot in the umbilical cord. This is caused by the baby moving in the same direction all the time,” Lloyd told Drum.

The thought of having to give birth to her stillborn baby the following day terrified Janice
This was not how she imagined she would be giving birth to their baby girl.
“It’s not natural to go through something like this. You hear about it but never imagine that it could happen to you,” Janice explained.

When baby Torah Afrika was buried, Janice was still in hospital recovering and chose not to go because she did not want to hold the last memory of her child from the funeral
The couple continue to raise their other two children and say that Torah will always be their third baby that they’ll never forget.
