- Day 3: Biggie gives housemates Punishments – BBMzansi
Day 3 is one the housemates won’t soon forget. While they had planned to rehearse for their wager presentation, Biggie had other plans—to remind them who truly runs the house. As they began to settle into the routine of their third day, Biggie stepped in to emphasize the importance of the rulebook. It became clear that some housemates had chosen to bend the rules of Big Brother Mzansi season 5, attempting to follow their own path instead.
The Head of House, Sweet Guluva, called a meeting to relay Biggie’s message, which took many by surprise. Despite being only three days in, Biggie had already issued punishments for several rule violations, including speaking in their native languages without providing translations (in a house where English is the required language) and discussing political topics—both clear breaches of the house rules.
Ashley Ogle was visibly frustrated. While the housemates were busy sewing, she openly told Sweet Guluva that she had overheard people speaking in their native languages. She pointed out that they wouldn’t be in this situation if everyone had simply adhered to the rule of speaking English.
The punishment was handed down: each housemate was required to sew 200 buttons onto fabric, with strict instructions from Biggie—20 rows, 10 buttons per row. The house quickly sprang into action, determined not to let this button-laden challenge back them into a corner.
The trouble started earlier in the day when conversations took a turn into political territory. Abobo, Ezra, Mata, Mandy Hagan, Melino, and Siphesihle, led by Sweet Guluva, were caught chanting political songs—something explicitly forbidden in the house. With such blatant rule-breaking, punishment was inevitable.

“If you fail to complete this task, the consequences will be severe,” Biggie warned, leaving no room for negotiation. The housemates now had no choice but to focus on finishing their punishment before even considering their wager presentation rehearsals.
