Dube’s Diary Session Highlights
Dube described his emotions as mixed. He feels good but also slightly down, though he’s proud of himself for still being in the house. With the wager task underway, he says housemates are clashing repeatedly over coming up with titles, and after nominations, accusations of people being fake have started flying around.
Speaking honestly, Dube noted that people approach the house differently, some want to party and do their own thing, while others prefer to chill. He explained that the game Didi proposed was bound to cause conflict, and many housemates could see where it was heading before it even started. He doesn’t believe people should be forced into games, especially when they’re likely to create problems in thte house.
His highest moment was winning Head of House, followed closely by the house winning the wager, and seeing his friend win HOH as well. However, eviction night was scary for him. He had predicted that two people might leave, and Lawredo’s eviction hit hard. Dube said he had been trying to get closer to Lawredo and was shocked that Lawredo left before Ofentse.
On his relationship with Que, Dube said he appreciates that he can be himself around him without feeling pressure to act like “the man of the house.” While some housemates seem intimidated by Que, Dube finds him to be one of the most interesting characters in the house. He clarified that despite what people think, they are not a ship, they’re simply playing the game.
The likes and hashtags task helped Dube see where he truly stands. He received five likes, while Mmeli received eight despite being up for eviction, which made Dube feel that some people are not genuine. He also pointed out that many enjoy chilling and laughing with iLano, yet she didn’t receive many likes, reinforcing his belief that some housemates pretend to be real but aren’t.
Dube admitted that while being in the house is nice, it’s also draining. During his time as HoH, he introduced rules like everyone washing their own dishes, which led to complaints behind his back. He mentioned being labelled as part of the so called “Big 6”, alongside Thandeka, Bravo B, Mmeli, Kokii, and Liema.
In closing, Dube said that when they applied for the show, they promised to bring energy, but feels many housemates are too relaxed and “sleeping on their jobs.”
