The fifth season of BBMzansi dubbed, Big Brother Mzansi Umlilo, which concluded recently, has been nominated in a number of categories for the 2025 National Film and TV Awards (NFTA) South Africa.
South Africa’s most popular reality show got nominations in three big categories: Best Competition Show, Best Non-Scripted TV Series, and Best Entertainment Show of 2025.
The National Film Academy, one of the world’s largest film and television academies with members exceeding 7.5 million globally, on October 13 revealed the full list of 2025 NFTA nominees. The list also featured some names of entertainment legends who will be honored for their lifetime work in the industry.
For the Best Competition Show 2025 category, Big Brother Mzansi Umlilo (Season 5) is competing against:

- Celebrity MasterChef South Africa
- Ready, Steady, Cook
- Friends Of Amstel: The Challenge
- Die Brug
- Deal Or No Deal
