It has now been officially confirmed that Big Brother Mzansi’s Power Couple, Ash-ley Ogle and Sweet Guluva, have called it quits.
Ash-ley Ogle and Sweet Guluva first crossed paths as housemates on the just concluded fifth season of Big Brother Mzansi, quickly became fan favorites thanks to their undeniable chemistry. Their relationship gave many hope that true love can blossom in the most unexpected places.
News of their split has left fans stunned, especially since season 5 winner Akhonamathemba Mbele, better known as Sweet Guluva, and former housemate Ash-ley Ogle were seen as one of the strongest couples to emerge from the show.
Their relationship isnt’s the first to fail, season 1 power couple Mandla and Lexi broke up after spending over a decade and having 2 children together. K2 and Blue, season 2 (Double Trouble) Power couple broke up a few months after the end of the show. Themba and season 3 winner Mpho Wabadimo broke up some months after the show and the two had a child together.
Ogle confirmed the breakup during an episode of Drink or Tell the Truth with Lasizwe on YouTube.
“Sweet Guluva broke up with me. I was forced to go with it. I’m a fan of Sweet Guluva, and I was in love with him. I would still say I am in love with him, but I don’t particularly like Akhonamathemba. I think Sweet Guluva was in love with me, but with Akhonamathemba, it wasn’t the same,” she said.
Ash-Ley Ogle said the breakup came as a surprise.
“Usually, you can see something coming. For me, it was a surprise. It’s been a month and a bit. I had to force myself to find the reason he had done what he did. I don’t even recall the reason; I think it was pretty much invalid. He said he’s working. To me, it seemed as if Akhonamathemba never had plans for Ashley Ogle — it was just Sweet Guluva who had plans for Ashley.”
